New Designs and Old Favorites
So I finally did the math from Renegade, and despite this pesky recession, my little business isn’t doing too badly ;o) I’m sure things might be even better if I put more effort into marketing, but with such a busy year, it just hasn’t been a priority. I did, however, use my brain, and talk to my pal Sarah of Still Life Mercantile for some pointers on what to make sure I bring to Renegade.
Tip number one was to bring multiples of hot sellers… everybody loved the mix and match comic book earrings at Bust Craftacular, so I brought them back for Renegade. Fortunately, people don’t change ;o)
But, Sarah reminded me, you have to have new pieces for repeat shoppers. I definitely recognized a few people from previous shows I’ve done, and I was glad to have some new stuff to show… including this flying piglet, which lent itself to all sorts of silly jokes about pig flu, swine flew, tee hee hee… it did sell to a new Stereoette fan ;o)
And finally a few things for a new audience – I have tons of cufflinks, but not that many guys wear them. So I moved into making belt buckles too. I have a little more work to do on the designs because though they attracted a lot of attention, they didn’t quite make a sale. Any suggestions on the belt buckle front?
oh p.s. I’m loadin’ up the etsy shop with new goodies this weekend, so have a look!

I think so – I’ve not had great luck with the little doohickeys that make a keychain (the split rings have been known to split the plastic!) but I’ve got my eyes on something new… I’ll let you know!

do you think you could make me one of those pig fly doo-dads as a key chain?
